Connecting High-Quality CCTV System via VPN System

Al Romaizan Gold & Jewellery Case study

Al Romaizan Gold & Jewellery is one of the leading Gold and Jewelry companies in the GCC. More than 80 digital recording devices were distributed to branches in various regions of the Kingdom

Challenges:

Challenge to stores' CCTVs:

Whether it’s theft, shoplifting or fraud, retail crime can severely impact profit margins. It puts employees and consumers in a vulnerable state. Therefore, maintaining the security of customers and goods outside and inside the store is essential. One of the biggest challenges in this project was providing accurate security cameras to ensure proper public surveillance and monitoring every counter without any blind spots. There was also a need for a mechanism to remotely control every space in real-time and receive alerts for unusual events.

Challenge to link branches:

Protecting and enhancing cyber security to avoid the misuse or leakage of vital customer information. Besides this, another major challenge in linking the store branches was reducing the dependence on the service of low-cost Internet providers and maintaining the quality of  CCTV visuals transferred to the control centre.

Solutions

We established a surveillance and control centre to monitor and follow up on 80 branches present around the Kingdom.

We offered high quality surveillance solutions by linking branches via VPN. It is the network mostly used in linking branches of small, large and safer institutions and companies. Being a virtual private network,  VPN can be defined as a network of the institution that enables it to link branches in distant areas and transfer and exchange data securely, at a much lower cost than other networks. In addition, a network that uses a VPN to link branches is also for remote communication and connecting employees with the organization. To make it more clear, imagine that you want to access certain files, a specific system, or an email within the institution through this public network that may damage the company’s data. It is vulnerable because you are using the public Internet connection. In contrast, VPN is a virtual and more protected private network.

We established a surveillance and control centre to monitor and follow up on 80 branches present around the Kingdom. To ensure effective surveillance, more than 500 CCTVs in the branches and 300 main management cameras were installed in the control Center. More than 80 digital recording devices were distributed to branches in various regions of the Kingdom. In regards to facilitate linking between branches, we helped our client to establish a virtual network for the customers by using the latest technologies and providing the highest quality with lowest costs  Internet service providers. A high-resolution screens wall was installed to monitor the cameras directly and recordings if needed. More than 6 trained users were employed to fix it.

Our team developed special servers using the latest technologies and speeds available to facilitate the process of linking and monitoring. Multiple techniques and different types of CCTVs were used, including /high-resolution cameras,360-degree fish eye cameras, 180-degree panoramic cameras, external cameras and special cameras for the accountants’ area.

Inside a store, most efficient panoramic webcam were installed in the jewellery area to accurately monitor all screens and movements inside. Thanks to its unique dual-sensor design, it offers a field of view up to 180 ° up to 20 m and can maintain a higher field of view than traditional multi-sensor panoramic cameras using four sensors. This model also uses H.265 compression and technology, which enables the store to provide bandwidth and store consumption.
